I have the best friends in the world!

So after a tough holdiay season, losing my 12 year old dog suddenly and then finding out that one of my cats is diabetic (yeah, really), things have turned around. Wonderful friends have stepped up and I have great homes for all my remaining pets, including diabetic George Burns. I may have a renter lined up through a friend who wants a long term lease and is actually not going to try to grow pot in my house! (sadily and sterotypically true, alot of this happens here in Humboldt County).  My agency found a great replacement for me - she used to work here 5 years ago but left to get her Masters in Social Work and misses us so much she is coming back!  She is a great friend too, so I will have fun orienting her to my crazy system of keeping track of things. (Yikes, alot of it is in my head, how do i dump that out and into hers???)  I am greatly enjoying reading the Bots8ers advice to the Bots9ers as I slowly take on my new role of a Bots10Mma.

I am so glad that packing is fun for me! Packing up my stuff, figuring out who to give what to and what to keep. Fun fun fun.  Trying to fit everything I think i should take with me into those itty bitty bags. Maybe less fun.  See, I don't mind living with less, I am a less is more kind of person. I even had a bumper sticker that said More fun, less stuff on it, till the "less stuff" side wore out so now I am down to only the "more fun" side. See, i can even live with only half a bumper sticker, especially when it says that.  The car will be sold to my best friend's teenaged daughter. Not sure we should leave that on it though. She has enough to deal with.   Soon, very soon, I will be putting everything i think i am going to take on my bed, then a dry run into the itty bitty bags, then maybe i will take a break and a glass or two of wine...then start the "more fun, less stuff" mantra and see what i can toss.

I am planning a party with a couple of friends' bands and some of my staff said, "oh yeah, you need a party, we can do it at our building - you won't have to do anything."  They know how to throw a party too, so I guess that may be the best way to go!!  Maybe I will bring a pile of my stuff and tell everyone they have to take things away as "party favors."

Just 83 more days to go!
